General FAQs

What's Mind the Kids about?

Mind the Kids has been established to provide a convenient and effective method for childcarers to get themselves directly in front of potential employers, and for parents, an affordable and efficient method for finding carers for their children. Mind the Kids enables parents to search our database of detailed profiles of nannies, babysitters and child minders as well as post job ads. As Mind the Kids is not a nanny agency our services are simple, straight-forward and very affordable.

So how is Mind the Kids different from a nanny agency?

Mind the Kids is a community website that provides a forum for parents and childcarers to get in contact with each other, quickly and efficiently. Over time, the community will create an environment in which members help each other find quality childcare through things such as online references, ratings and feedback. In this way, Mind the Kids puts the control in the hands of our members.

Because Mind the Kids is not a nanny agency we do not screen or conduct reference or police checks on the childcarers registered on the site. We believe that, increasingly, parents are preferring to conduct the required screening of childcarers themselves. Who better to decide who is right to look after your children but you!

More information on interviewing, screening, police checks and other helpful information on hiring a nanny or babysitter can be found on the Parents section of our site. Simply register to have access to all this free information.

Mind the Kids does not charge any overheads, commission, cancellation fees or any other agency fees.
